Ascendant Supply 20th 17m machine to Facelift
Ascendant has supplied its 20th, 17m truck mounted platform to Facelift Access Hire.
The A17m, mounted on a 3.5 tonne chassis has been specifically designed for the UK market and can be driven on a normal car license.
Unique features include permanent one sided jacking allowing the machine to achieve full unrestricted outreach of 12.2m with a cage capacity of 230KG, whilst still maintaining a narrow working width of only 3.2m.
The vehicle has built in storage lockers with a carrying capacity of 150KG unique to this type of machine, allowing the user to carry tools and equipment to the job with no need for a second vehicle.
The machines greatest feature is its simplicity. The design brief was to create something simple, easy to operate and maintain. The result is a machine with full hydraulic controls and no need for outreach limiters or complicated electronics.

New van mount provides the answers
Ascendant have recently added new 12.5 and 15m van mounted platforms to their range. These new machines have provided the market with a platform that makes a difference, and boast a number of advantages when compared with many of its older contemporaries. The design concept includes oversized structural elements which coupled to sensitive, direct hydraulic, controls make the machine feel safer and much easier to operate. Its robust build requires the minimum of maintenance and coupled with a huge 370kg of extra payload, 230kg of cage capacity and its economic price, these new vans fill the gap in today's van mounted market.

Ascendant’s Norwegian dealer “Liftco” has just taken delivery of its first Ascendant A21-16 mounted onto a SCANIA P270 18tonne chassis cab.
Designed and built to his own specification the unit features a 170deg fly-boom and totally narrow jacks.
An extra large, insulated, GRP cage is incorporated and the machine is capable of carrying its 280kg payload at maximum outreach of 16m.
An important design feature of the machine is its abilty to work at maximum payload and outreach over the rear of vehicle without jacks. This allows maximum productivity when working with large numbers of street lights.
Given the topology of Norway it was also important for the unit to be able to bring itself level when parked on a slope of 12Deg.
Most of the superstructure was galvanised to inhibit corrosion in the salty atmosphere. Liftco believes that this unit is the first of a very large order he hopes to place with Ascendant.

Ascendant tackles tree
August 22, 2008
Over the past week high winds have swept across the UK with Sussex vacation venue Littlehampton, battling particularly strong gales. Various incidents were reported with one huge tree toppling over and narrowly missing a number of nearby homes. Thankfully no one was injured and it eventually came to rest precariously in a garden.
The tree was tilting precariously
Local tree surgeons called on Facelift to help survey what remained of the unstable tree. The company used a British built 17 metre Ascendant to help make the remaining part of the tree completely safe.
Facelift commented “It’s very common for us to be called in to assist tree surgeons to make situations like this free from further risk.”

The Ascendant 17TN proving very popular for the hire market
Employing the same boom assembly as our A17-12 platform mounted onto an Iveco 5.2tonne chassis cab this unit features full 360deg rotation with maximum payload of 250Kg at full outreach of 12.2m with a jack spread of only 2.5metres.
The units have incorporated “chapter 8” motorway specification and provide a useful 400kg of spare payload on the vehicle. They have been supplied to ES ACCESS PLATFORMS NE LTD, ORION ACCESS SERVICES and lately to EPL ACCESS LTD.
One of the machines major benefits is its narrow jack spread allowing the unit to be used on a single lane closure on motorways.
